Of course, everything starts with careful skin selection. It continues by sewing the individual leather elements that make up the upper part of the shoe. This part of the work is handmade, probably because this part of the production requires special precision. Then the complete upper part is put on a wooden mould to get the shape of the future shoe. A leather strap is sewn to connect the upper part to the inner sole. Granulated cork is added to the resulting cavity, and a sole is sewn to the edge. The process ends with painting the soles, polishing the shoes and hand tinting.

Shoes made with this technique are extremely waterproof – the leather strap that is sewn to the sole does not allow water to penetrate into the inside of the shoe. It is easy to replace the complete sole, which allows the shoe to last for decades. The inside of the sole is filled with a layer of granular cork, a material that is light, breathable, is a good insulator and is shaped according to the anatomy of the foot after just a few wears.
